NEWSLETTER July 2003:

It's OUR birthday and YOU get the gifts!! Sew With Sarah has been in business since July 1975. We started out with just one book "Sarah's Key to Pattern Drafting", which continues to be a best seller to this day! This one book has expanded into over 25 sewing, craft, pattern making and how-to books, in addition to pattern making classes, and now pattern making and various other sewing/craft classes online!

As you scroll on down to the bottom of the newsletter you'll see a variety of Anniversary specials just for you - including basics such as sewing supplies, books, treadle belts for those of you with treadle sewing machines, and more!

We have gotten several e-mails from newsletter readers regarding items/patterns that they have been searching for, and as usual, we will do our best to help find the patterns, and we'll publish the ones we feel may have wide spread appeal.

Mary Anne from KY wrote asking if we knew where she could find a pattern for leather riding chaps - the kind that motorcycle riders wear for protection, as well as chaps for horse back riders. This one took some searching, but there is indeed a pattern for chaps -- and you'll find it by going to the site http://SewingWithLeather.com. The pattern includes complete instructions.  Also available is a  book on sewing with leather. Happy Sewing Mary Anne!

Regarding our plus-size children's classes, Janet from OH wrote saying "I have exactly the opposite problem - my young daughter is tall and very slender, and none of the patterns fit her properly. Thanks to Janet's request, and we're sure she's not the only one with that problem, we do now have classes for the petite and slender girls which you'll find at the website http://PatternsThatFitYou.com/childrenpm.htm

**Susan from CA has suggested the following hint - and a very good one at that! "Zip lock bags make great thread holders. I use a separate bag to hold various colors - one bag for blues, a bag for pinks, etc. This keeps the colors together and prevents a lot of tangling threads." Great idea Susan!

***Small safety pins placed inside the hem of your garment will get rid of the static cling.
