NEWSLETTER June 2003:

We are calling this month's newsletter "Family Issues", and will be dealing with two of the most important family issues in our country today.

After last month's newsletter went out about overweight children and our suggestion about making patterns from scratch for them, we received several notes with the same theme -- "I realize that making patterns from scratch is the ideal thing, and I would like to do that, but right now I have dozens of store bought patterns that I thought would work for my plus size child, but it is a nightmare trying to alter them." "I don't know where to start when altering the patterns. I thought my plus size child had an extra large tummy, so when I tried to alter the pattern for that, I found that the shoulders were way too big, the sleeves too long, and the neck too big. HELP!"

Regardless of what size pattern you buy for the plus size child, there may be one, two or multiple changes that must be made. In order to get a good fit, it is necessary to adjust the pattern dimensions to your child's figure dimensions. The newest class at http://PatternsThatFitYou.com/childpm.htm is called "Altering Store Bought Patterns for Plus Size Boys and Girls", and it teaches you HOW to take the measurements, then how to compare each of the pattern measurements to the child's REAL measurements, then walks you through the process of how to do the actual pattern adjustments.

Store bought pattern alterations for plus size children are not difficult when you take them one step at a time and the 70 page instruction class will guide you from beginning to end.

The "Childless" family --

At least 90 million couples worldwide, 11 million in the US alone, are trying to become pregnant. Many couples had put off having children until they were more secure with their jobs, had a home, and therefore felt like they would be better able financially to finally have children. Now that they are a little older, they're finding it increasingly difficult to conceive. With only a 20% average chance of becoming pregnant each cycle, it's no surprise that couples can easily become discouraged and stressed. In fact, the stress related to infertility is second only to the stress related to the death of a loved one!

http://Fertility-Facts.com is a "one of a kind" site devoted entirely to the fertility/infertility problems of couples that are trying to conceive.

The reason I'm recommending this "family" site is because I have a daughter in law, a niece and a friend who are ALL in the "infertility problem" category. All three of these couples have been trying for 2-5 years to get pregnant, have consulted fertility doctors, gone through all the hoops and 2 of the 3 couples are still "trying". My daughter in law ran across this site and was so excited she could hardly stand it -- the site gave MUCH more information than any of the doctors she'd seen; logical information and down to earth explanations and suggestions.

If you know a couple in this "trying to get pregnant without success" category, you'll be doing them a huge favor by recommending this information packed site!! They will thank you for recommending it!
