Coloring books contain a never-ending supply of ideas for decorations and appliqués that will delight your children. The following are only a few of the many ideas you could use:

 Military – camouflage print fabric
 Cowboys & Indians – use a cowboy hat, cowboy boot, tomahawk, cactus and teepee
 Space – place stars, moon, space man and space ship on the walls
 Gingerbread House – gingerbread men, candy canes, sun, flowers and white “icing” around the top
 Submarine – assorted sizes, types and color of fish
 Country Cottage – assorted flowers, a sun and picket fence
 Barn – put a horse head on one side of the center, or a pig by the bottom, add ducks, chickens, a sun and flowers, and use brown felt or fabric “boards” crosswise on the door flap to imitate a barn door
 Circus – use assorted circus animals and clowns of various sizes and colors

We call this a “portable” playhouse, designed to be set up in a corner of the child’s bedroom, or to play in outside in the front yard for an hour or two;  however when we made the playhouses for my grandchildren, they became “permanent” playhouses set up in the living room where they could “live” in it!!  They wanted to play in it, eat in it, take naps in it and even poke their heads out in order to watch some TV!
